When Time Stands Still
Time waits on no one, that is the truth. Days come and go, months turn into years and I often find myself surprised by the lines on my face that prove decades are now passing. But somedays, sometimes, I find myself in a place where time seems to stand still. In these precious moments I am able to forget there is a device called a clock and just fully be present with myself. I relish these eternal moments more than I could ever express. I have spent the majority of three decades building a life around these fleeing moments of sanctuary. In my life the animals stop time. Don’t get me wrong they all know the difference between morning and evening and if you miss a feeding they let you know you have a schedule to keep. But in between the rigors of the day and checking off chores from a list there are moments of connection. The animals give me this precious space. They hold space. They allow me to just be, fully present, no distractions, no time keeping, just my love for them. I hope when you visit us for a goat walk or a donkey walk you too can find that place where time stands still. I hope when you look into those big round eyes your spirit gets a break and your soul is rejuvenated. This is why we walk with animals. In an otherwise unpredictable and stressful world these beautiful creatures provide more peace and joy then I could find anywhere else. I hope to meet you soon and in all likelihood time will stand still, we will run late, and memories will be made :)
