I’m Sorry

I am sorry. Sincerely. Such simple words that hold such immense power and potential. I owe you all my sincerest apologies for not blogging regularly. The second half of 2025 was a tough one for a very personal reason. The kids dad, Mike (you have met him behind the bar at our bonfires) had a silent heart attack which turned into a serious complication resulting in emergency open heart surgery. All of our time and effort shifted to keeping him alive. We managed to hold it all together and care for the animals but I can not lie, 2025 was a truly difficult time. I am so relieved that all is now well with Mike’s health.

Sadly, tragedy continues to strike. We recently had a dog attack on our animals. I can not say much at this time but what I will tell you is that remorse and responsibility matter. There is no magic wand that can correct this horrible nightmare that our animals suffered. Three little words do exist that help humans cope, process and survive. “I am sorry” has alchemy, three little words that can turn pain into forgiveness. Extending compassion, showing you care, and taking responsibility never goes out of fashion. In time I will go into more detail about this egregious situation, for now just know we lost four fur babies and a llama was attacked but is doing alright, while a fifth goat is undergoing veterinary care. For the four goats who lost their lives, I am so sorry. My spirit is crushed. The trauma is real. And while I like to believe this too shall pass the haunting memories will remain.

So I am sorry. I will do better.
