Join us for a cozy “Christmas in July” themed farmstand day at Not By Luck Ranch. Shop handmade soaps, luxurious goat milk body creams, fresh baked goods, seasonal favorites, and thoughtful gifts while enjoying the beauty of rural Placer county. Meet some of our rescue animals, soak in the country atmosphere, and know that every purchase helps support the ongoing care of the wild burros we provide a lifetime of sanctuary. Saturday, July 11 farmstand hours: 11 AM to 4 PM. There is no admission fee to stop by the farmstand but we do gladly accept donations for our donkey sanctuary efforts as described below.

Farmstand Questions, Answered

  • As a goat ranch our featured product line is our goat milk soaps and lotions. We do also have a cottage food license so we make jam and baked goods as well. We also love to craft so you never know what seasonal items you may find. You will also find a limited amount of Not By Luck Ranch promotional merchandise such as hats, coffee mugs and sweatshirts.

  • Exit I-80 East at Magra Road (exit 143) in Gold Run, CA. Turn right onto Magra Road. Turn left onto Garrett Road. The farmstand is about ½ mile down Garrett Road.

    Gold Run is located about 10 miles above Colfax and is approximately 30 minutes from the Roseville and 60 minutes from Sacramento.

  • Not By Luck Ranch is a non-smoking facility and smoking and vaping are not allowed anywhere on site. Please do not smoke or vape at the farmstand. There is a rest stop right down the road for travelers needing a place to take a break.

  • Unfortunately, no service or other dogs are allowed at the farmstand. Not By Luck Ranch does not allow dogs anywhere on the property. We are a private working goat ranch and outside animals of any kind are not allowed. For the health and safety of our herd please do not bring any service animals, dogs or other pets to Not By Luck Ranch.

  • The farmstand is open 11 AM to 4 PM on the listed dates but parking is VERY LIMITED. We ask that guests shop and enjoy the farmstand for no longer than 90 minutes so that others may access the convenient parking.

  • Yes, most days we will have a few featured donkeys at the farmstand and since the goats go where they want you never know who else may roam by during your visit :) Animal feed will be available for purchase at the farmstand. For the health and safety of our animals please only feed them if/when instructed at the farmstand.

  • Unfortunately the farmstand is not a picnic facility. Limited benches and seating are available for farmstand customer use only, and only during farmstand hours. We do ask that no outside food or drink be brought and that you support Not By Luck Ranch by purchasing a snack from the farmstand!
