Journey with Johnita, Owner of Not By Luck Ranch, through an animal adventure designed to sooth the soul. Get ready for an engaging day of discovery through hands on animal encounters, learning and connection.

How The Adventure Unfolds:

9:45 - 10:15 Arrivals & Welcome

10:15 - 11:00 Goats & Goat Milk

11:00 - 11:15 Break

11:15 - 12:00 Feathered Friends

12:00 - 12:30 Lunch (provided)

12:30 - 1:30 Donkeys

1:30 - 2:00 Craft Session (Mandalas)

2:00 - 2:30 “Hoppy Hour” With Rabbits (snacks & drinks provided)

2:30 - 3:00 Q&A and Reflections

Our Labor Of Love Workshop is only open to guests 21 or over. No DOGS or other outside animals allowed, please leave your pets at home and enjoy ours. Every person in attendance must have a ticket purchased in advance and a signed liability release on file. Please wear closed toed shoes.

This workshop does require walking around a mountain ranch and is not stroller or wheelchair accessible. Moderate fitness is required.

The Labor Of Love Workshop will be held rain or shine. All ticket purchases are non-refundable, non-transferable and valid only for the date and time indicated.

Meet The Workshop Leader - Johnita Wemken

Johnita Wemken is a homeschooling mother, of two incredible children, with an unbridled entrepreneurial spirit. Johnita began her animal welfare career as Publisher of the Sacramento Pet Gazette and is currently working as the creative force/owner/operator of Not By Luck Ranch. Johnita has gentled and trained seven wild burros and two mustangs; given sanctuary to more than 50 animals; manages a herd of dairy goats; and bakes award winning cottage foods. Drawing upon decades of proven experience Johnita delivers dynamic animal encounters that are fun, educational and sure to sooth the soul.
