Living In Fast Forward

As I type this it is hard to believe my last post was back in June. Time really does fly. Lately I have been feeling this at my core, wondering how to slow the clock down. I remember when my days were filled with indulgent activities like playing golf, reading, and chatting with friends over cocktails. Fast forward some amount of years and it is almost like I stepped into a time warp. The days pass far to quickly and with just a blink winter became spring and spring became summer and now fall is on the horizon. When I stop and reflect I realize I am living in a constant state of fast forward, 24 hours is not a long enough day. It is hard for me to say with certainty if its a lack of time or perhaps my attention has been cast upon things like days by the pool and gentling wild burros. But as the clock ticks down and my chore list fills up I have to ask myself where the time is going and do I really like living in fast forward? Moving at a rapid pace from one thing to another is really not me living my best life. I like to have time to enjoy every second, to feel the heat of the sun as I pick every last blackberry the season offers. So my dear reader as the seasons meagerly begin to transition I am going to try and slow my own merry-go-round of life down and get back to basics…remember, I am trying to put all my eggs into one basket :) Make no mistake these amazing animals are my world, so as fall rolls in I am going to, once again, practice being present in every second to soak up all the joy that sharing these animals brings. Hope I see you soon!
