Bucks & Does

Spring is such a lovely time of year. The bursting daffodils, the flowering Dogwood’s, the fresh sprigs of pine needles, the warming temperatures and of course baby animals. When you live with seasons the dark days of winter make you really appreciate the joy of Spring, the heat of Summer and the sublime days of Fall. I have mastered the art of making Spring last as long as possible. To do this I ensure baby animals are in my life from March to May. Baby goats, then chicks, and now I am so happy to announce baby bunnies! As you may know a female goat is called a “doe” and a male goat is called a “buck”, but did you know same is true in rabbits? One fun twist is that baby goats are referred to as “kids” while baby rabbits are “kits”. For those of you who witnessed the explicit tour when we had Wednesday and Eugene together (our Flemish Giant rabbits) you will be pleased to know the breeding was successful and Wednesday delivered eight healthy kits! Flemish Giant rabbits are one of the best breeds out there, the temperament of these animals is friendly and docile, curious and playful. I can’t wait to share these beautiful bunnies with you soon. We will have a few of Wednesdays kits up for adoption so if you are interested please send me an email. I do hope to get an adoptable section on the website soon, so please stay tuned for that. But if you just want to meet them and enjoy them for a day we do have The Bunny Trail coming up on May 21st where you will get to enjoy Wednesday, Eugene, and some of their other rabbit friends.

I will leave you with this:

Wednesday’s child may be full of woe,

but that is overcome with one little buck and one little doe…
